Shimuwini is a small camp when compared to rest camps and satellite camps. The camp only has 15 units and it is completely off limits to the parks day visitors.
There are 5 units in the camp with 2 bedrooms each. Both of the bedrooms have 2 single beds and a ceiling fan to keep the heat away. The shared bathroom has a shower, wash basin and toilet. The kitchen and the dining room are on an open veranda. The kitchen has a two-plate gas stove (no oven), a sink, a fridge, crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils. On the veranda, there are 4 dining chairs and a table.
There are two types of guest cottages available. The first set of cottages are 2 bedroom units. Each bedroom has ceiling fans, one bedroom has 3 single beds and the other room has 2 single beds. One of the bedrooms also has an en-suite bathroom with a bath, wash basin and toilet while there is also a separate toilet, and a separate shower and wash basin. The kitchen is equipped with a gas stove (oven included), a fridge, a sink, cooking utensils, cutlery and crockery. Guests also have a dining room on the open veranda.
The other guest cottage is a 3 bedroom unit. Each unit has 2 single beds and an en-suite bathroom with a bath and toilet in each. Guests can also enjoy an open outside shower. Furthermore, there is a separate bathroom with a bath, wash basin and toilet with doors leading to the bedrooms and the living space. The living room has 2 comfortable lounge chairs and a ceiling fan while the outdoor dining area has a partly enclosed veranda with coffee tables, chairs and a kitchen table. The inside kitchen has a stove and oven, a fridge, cooking utensils, crockery and cutlery.
